1. App Operator
The Alkitab Indonesia app is operated by PT Terbang Digital Global. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the data you use in the app. By using the app, you consent to the collection and use of data in accordance with this policy. The app requires no account.
2. Data We Collect
We try to collect as little data as possible — only what is needed to run the app. Your activity data (saved verses, highlights, labels, reading history, reminder settings, display preferences, and verse images you create) is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. For analytics, we collect anonymous data: an anonymous device ID not linked to your identity, the app version, your operating system and device model, usage events, and an approximate country or region derived from your IP address (we do not store the IP address itself). We do not collect precise GPS location, contact lists, camera or microphone access, or other sensitive data.
3. How We Use Data
We use data to provide core features (reading, saving, sharing, and creating verse images), to send reading reminders and the verse of the day according to your settings, to measure reliability and feature adoption in aggregate, and to fix bugs and improve the user experience. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Third-Party SDKs
The app uses PostHog for product analytics, which collects anonymous events as described in the Data We Collect section. Data is sent over an encrypted connection (TLS) to the PostHog service in the United States. Each third-party service is governed by its own privacy policy; see https://posthog.com/privacy.
5. Governing Law
This policy is drafted with regard to Law Number 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (Undang-Undang Pelindungan Data Pribadi / UU PDP), which took effect in October 2024, as the law governing the protection of personal data in the Republic of Indonesia.
6. Scripture Attribution
The Bible text in the app is the Terjemahan Sederhana Indonesia (TSI), licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) licence by its publisher. You are free to share and adapt the text for any purpose, including commercially, so long as you give appropriate attribution to the TSI publisher and distribute derivatives under the same licence. 7. Advertising
The app currently shows no ads. If we introduce ads in the future, their placement will respect your reading experience, and we will update this policy beforehand to explain the data associated with those ads.
